With all these over 51 mineral types in Uganda , there are not many active firms involved in mining or exploitation. This makes the mineral subsector very lucrative because of high production potential, if many interested miners are prevalent. Available mineral sources include but are not limted to;

• Copper, cobalt, tin, phosphates, vermiculite, diamond, gold, petroleum chronite, magnetite, uranium, iron ore, Gypsum phosphates salt, sulphate, kyanite, clays, feldspar, sand among others. Core minerals Geologist Ltd has got operating centers linking to all gold deposit locations in Uganda and other great lakes region. The company has got official agencies in areas that produce the minerals for instance;
• Copper – cobalt: There is a link official in Kitembe where copper – cobalt sulphide mineralization occurs. There is another official residing in Bobong in Karamoja region, kampono and Kitaka in Mbarara district, among many others
